DESTINATIONS & HIGHLIGHTS

  • Windhoek is Namibia’s capital, home to an international airport and a plethora of restaurants, shops, entertainment venues and accommodation options. The city is clean, safe and well-organised, with a colonial legacy that is reflected in its many German eateries and shops, and the widespread use of the German language. Windhoek has an interesting mix of historical architecture and modern buildings, many of which are worth a look, including the Alte Feste (Old Fort), the 1896 Christuskirche (Christ Church), and the more contemporary Supreme Court.

  • Spreading across Botswana, South Africa and Namibia, the Kalahari meaning 'the great thirst' is an exceptionally beautiful living desert. The landscape is characterised by a large semi-arid sandy savannah draped over a gently rolling inland sea of sand covering most of Botswana and large parts of Namibia and South Africa. It is also the last bastion of the indigenous San people with the modern world having enveloped all the other areas they once roamed. The Namibian portion is made up of red sands covered in thin, wispy, mostly golden grass and dotted with acacia trees and wide-ranging wildlife including gemsbok, impala, jackals and cheetah.

  • Sossusvlei is where you will find the iconic red sand dunes of the Namib. The clear blue skies contrast with the giant red sand dunes to make this one of the natural wonders of Africa and a photographers heaven. Aside from the attractions at Sossusvlei - Dune 45, Hiddenvlei, Big Daddy and Deadvlei - other attractions in the area include the Sesriem Canyon and Namib-Naukluft National Park, where the mountains of the Namib meet its plains.

  • Founded in 1892 as the main harbour for German South West Africa, Swakopmund is often described as being more German than Germany. Now a seaside resort, Swakopmund is the capital of the Skeleton Coast tourism area and has plenty to keep visitors happy. The quirky mix of German and Namibian influences, colonial-era buildings and the cool sea breeze make it very popular.

  • Situated in Namibia’s desolate, awe-inspiring Namib Desert, between Usakos and Swakopmund and about two hours’ drive from Swakopmund, the Spitzkoppe are a group of bald granite peaks forming one of Namibia’s most recognizable and dramatic landmarks. These enormous towering domes are a mecca for hikers and mountaineers, from beginners interested in guided historic walks to professional climbers seeking an adrenaline boost. Numerous ancient rock paintings can be visited as part of a guided walking tour. The extreme, barren landscapes and striking rock formations create an excellent setting for photography.

  • Huge, untamed and ruggedly beautiful Damaraland is an exceptionally scenic landscape of open plains and spectacular rock formations. The major attractions are Spitzkoppe, the Brandberg, Twyfelfontein, Vingerklip and the Petrified Forest.

  • Located just south of the boundary of Etosha National Park in northwestern Namibia, Etosha South makes up the southern region of this wild paradise. Ogava Private Game Reserve shares the southern boundary with Etosha National Park and offers an array of luxury lodges overlooking picturesque landscapes dotted with abundant wildlife. The national park can be accessed via the southern entrance at Andersson’s Gate. Visitors can catch a glimpse of a variety of wildlife including: lion, giraffe, elephant, white and black rhino, and a multitude of plains game. Popular activities include: game drives, tracking rhinos on foot, guided nature walks, or watch the sunset over this magnificent landscape.

  • Located in Northwestern Namibia, Etosha East is a protected sanctuary in the eastern part of the world-renowned Etosha National Park, known as one of the most accessible game reserves in Southern Africa. Etosha East boasts vast open plains scattered with semi-arid savannah grasslands dotted with watering holes and secluded bush camps. An impressive 5000-square-kilometre Etosha salt pan makes up a large area of the eastern side of the park and can even be seen from space. This remote area teems with abundant wildlife such as lions, elephants, black rhinos and giraffes, as well as a variety of birdlife featuring flamingos, ostriches, eagles, hornbills, and owls.

  • Situated just south of the renowned Etosha National Park, the Waterberg Region encompasses the magnificent Waterberg Plateau National Park and the farming districts from Outjo and Otjiwarongo in the west, to Grootfontein and Tsumeb in the east. Tranquil, vast, and breathtakingly beautiful, the Waterberg region is known for its natural attractions including undulating bushveld hills, deep gorges, clear streams, and magnificent mountains. The area features many game reserves which are home to an array of wildlife including the endangered roan and sable antelopes, rhino, blue wildebeests, Cape vulture and much more. Visitors can look forward to hiking through spectacular landscapes, jumping on a safari to the Waterberg Plateau and immerse themselves in the local Herero culture.

Our guests are pampered in a style befitting the spectacular surroundings.

The original 1930s manager's house was converted into a guesthouse with 4 double and twin rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms.

The spacious dining room is also located in the guesthouse, along with the comfortable lounge - the perfect spot to relax after a long day outdoors.

Guests can also soak up the atmosphere of the unspoilt African bush in our two secluded, luxury 'bush bungalows' situated 160 metres from the main guesthouse. The truly unique bungalows are built according to the traditional Herero method using natural materials from the surrounding mountains.

While the bungalows themselves are constructed with only natural materials, the interiors are decorated in contemporary African design and offer all the modern amenities to ensure your comfort. They also offer the unique choice of showers either inside or outside, surrounded by breathtaking views!

The traditional African grass-roofed "lapa" next to the swimming pool offers al fresco dining and a fully stocked 'honesty bar'. Here guests can sit on the wooden deck and watch the floodlit waterhole as antelope, warthog and the occasional leopard come to drink, and in turn, be watched by our resident family of baboons.

Our concept is simple - a small luxury guest house, accommodating a limited number of guests, set in the midst of a wildlife haven with personal attention, spectacular surroundings and exceptional cuisine.

Over dinner, your hosts can share their broad knowledge on numerous and diverse subjects ranging from the local history and culture, wildlife and nature, conservation efforts and predator management through to the realities of day-to-day life on an operational Namibian ranch.
Animals can be viewed on guided game drives through the rugged surrounding terrain in four-wheel drive vehicles, or just by sitting on the viewing deck at our floodlit waterhole.

And after a long day in the bush, there's nothing quite like relaxing with an ice-cold sundowner around the pool, watching as the setting sun illuminates the blood-red Waterberg Plateau.

Catering for only a limited number of guests also enables us to personalize your visit to suit the specific wishes of your group. Whether you're celebrating a birthday, anniversary or any other special occasion, we can customize your stay to ensure a truly memorable occasion.
