DESTINATIONS & HIGHLIGHTS

  • Tsauchab River Camp is in the Naukluft Mountains region of Namibia, near Sossusvlei, situated on the ephemeral Tsauchab River, offering a unique desert oasis with wild fig trees, springs, chalets, and campsites, serving as a base for exploring the famous dunes and canyons.

  • Swakopmund photography: a cinematic collision of desert and sea where every frame feels like an adventure. Capture pastel German colonial facades and Art Nouveau details against a backdrop of rolling red dunes and the slate-blue Atlantic. Mornings bring soft, golden light and coastal mist that wraps the jetty and lighthouse in ethereal layers; afternoons deliver dramatic contrasts and long shadows across rippled sand. Shoot seal colonies on the shoreline, wind-sculpted dunes at sunset, and kite-surfers carving bright trails on the water.

  • Ondjamba Hills photography: a wild, windswept theatre of granite domes, jagged ridgelines and wind-polished boulders that beg to be framed. Dawn paints the sky in molten pastels, highlighting warm stone textures and casting deep, dramatic shadows that emphasize every crevice and curve. Midday light brings stark contrast and jewel-toned scrub, while late-afternoon golden hour turns the hills into a cinematic landscape of burnished golds and purples. Capture intimate, abstract images of lichen-streaked rock and sun-bleached grasses, sweeping panoramas from exposed ridges, and silhouettes of lone trees against vast, open skies. Birdlife and small mammals add life to compositions; a telephoto brings them close without intrusion. Use a wide-angle for immersive foreground-to-horizon shots, a sturdy tripod for long exposures at dusk, and a polarizer to deepen skies and reduce glare. Ondjamba rewards photographers who hunt texture, scale, and the raw, elemental drama of nature.

  • Epacha Game Lodge & Spa photography: an immersive safari-dream of wide savannahs, shimmering pans, and intimate wildlife moments set against dramatic, cloud-streaked skies. Dawn game drives serve up golden-sidelit elephants, giraffes silhouetted on the horizon, and predators moving through tall grass, perfect for low-angle, story-rich compositions. Midday offers crisp detail: textured termite mounds, sunlit acacia branches and the lodge’s thatched architecture framed by deep blue skies. At dusk the pans mirror spectacular sunsets, creating breathtaking reflections for wide panoramas and moody silhouette shots. Close-up portraits of birds, insects and mammals reward a telephoto and patience; include human-scale elements, guides, waterholes, lodge terraces—to tell place-based stories. Recommended kit: 100–400mm or 200–600mm for wildlife, 24–70mm or 16–35mm for lodge and landscapes, fast prime for low-light dining and interiors, and a sturdy monopod or tripod for stability. Bring extra batteries, dust protection, and respect for wildlife—Epacha yields cinematic, soulful images for photographers who balance timing, empathy, and composition.

  • Omaruru Game Lodge bursts with wild beauty and warm hospitality, a private, intimate sanctuary set against rolling savannah and ancient mopane trees. Wake to birdsong and panoramic sunrise views, track majestic wildlife on guided game drives, then return to elegant thatched chalets, handcrafted local décor, and long, starlit dinners around the boma. Adventure and tranquillity meet here: from adrenaline-charged sightings of elephant, giraffe and lion to quiet moments on sundowner decks where the African sky steals the show.

Photography at Omaruru Game Lodge transforms every moment into a masterpiece. Expert guides know the best light and secrets of animal behaviour to place you where every frame counts, dramatic close-ups at golden hour, intimate portraits of elephant families, intimate birding shots, and sweeping landscape panoramas at dusk. Whether you’re a keen amateur or a pro, enjoy dedicated photo safaris, vehicle hides, tips on composition and camera settings, and unobstructed views that turn simple snapshots into gallery-quality images. Capture the wild, and leave with a portfolio that tells the story of Namibia’s raw, luminous heart.
