Below is the complete itinerary, including our amazing full day in the Estancia Private Reserve with expert Puma trackers, giving you the best chance to capture these incredible animals in their winter habitat.
14-Day Winter Photography Workshop Itinerary - Patagonia 2025
Day 1: Arrival in Punta Arenas & Transfer to Puerto Natales
Arrive at Punta Arenas airport and transfer by 4x4 vehicle to Puerto Natales. Settle in for your first night at the cozy and comfortable Loft By Torre Patagonia. Relax and prepare for the adventure ahead, soaking in the stunning Patagonian atmosphere.
Day 2: Cross into Argentina & El Calafate
Cross the Chile-Argentina border and travel to El Calafate. Check into Hotel Kapenke for your overnight stay. In the afternoon, head to Lago Argentino to photograph a variety of local bird species in their natural habitat, an inspiring introduction to Patagonian wildlife photography.
Day 3: Sunrise at Perito Moreno Glacier & Travel to El Chaltén
Rise early to witness and capture a breathtaking sunrise over the iconic Perito Moreno Glacier. Marvel at the blue ice formations and calving ice walls as the morning light transforms the landscape. Afterward, travel to El Chaltén and check into Andino Apartments, where you will stay for six nights.
Days 4–8: Exploring El Chaltén: Cerro Torre, Fitz Roy & Wildlife
Immerse yourself in the dramatic landscapes around El Chaltén. Photograph the jagged peaks of Cerro Torre and the majestic Mount Fitz Roy at sunrise and sunset. Keep an eye out for soaring Andean condors and other wildlife. Enjoy personalized photography tuition with Timothy Poulton, refining your skills amidst Patagonia’s most stunning vistas.
Day 7: Cross Back to Chile & Torres del Paine National Park
Travel back across the border into Chile. Check into the Hotel Estancia El Ovejero Patagónico, your home for the next five nights. This beautifully situated estancia offers exceptional access to the park’s highlights.
Days 8–12: Torres del Paine & Puma Private Reserve
Spend your days exploring and photographing the breathtaking Torres del Paine National Park. Key locations include:

Experience an unforgettable full day in the Estancia Private Reserve with expert Puma trackers, providing rare opportunities to photograph these elusive and magnificent predators in their winter habitat.
Enjoy daily sunrise and sunset photography sessions capturing the rich colours and moods of the Patagonian landscape, plus immersive astro sessions under the pristine night sky.
Day 13: Return to Punta Arenas
Travel back to Punta Arenas for your final night, staying at the Patagonia Hotels and Suites. Reflect on your incredible journey while enjoying comfort and fine dining.
Day 14: Departure
Depart Punta Arenas with a memory card full of breathtaking images and unforgettable experiences.
